While I'm 20 years older than you, I can understand your PF concerns. My mother fought an "unidentified" auto-immune disorder her entire adult life until she was diagnosed with Shy-Dragger syndrome and Parkingon's in her 60s about 15 years ago. I have two older sisters, both receive social security disability benefits - one for MS, the other for Lupus. And then there is me. I have a 20+ year history with problems of my reproductive system (endometriosis and cancer of various forms). My blog, "Future Unknown" is a record of my journey from being an independent career woman to someone facing life on disability. I was on a path to have a personal net worth of well over $1 million in 15 to 20 years (my target retirement age). Now I'm in the process of applying for long-term disability and adjusting to living on a fixed income, having to completely rethink my life, goals, finances, etc. I've added you to my blog roll.
