I should have known that it would be a slow process to which we could switch over from using the credit cards occasionally to not using them all. Which is why I shouldn’t be discouraged when things come up and the only option is to charge it.
I keep reminding myself that slow and steady wins the race. I don’t need to go from “this” to “that” overnight. And I can’t. Our budget is horrible because we spend more on our monthly bills and necessities than we make. A third of our income is going to credit cards. I refuse to stop putting money in our emergency fund. I’m cutting corner everywhere I can think to, and yet we’re still in the red every month. (If you look at it on a month by month basis…somehow little bits of extra income and whatnot keep us from ACTUALLY going in the red and carrying us over from month to month.)
Still very discouraging. I want so badly to be out of debt.
