I’ve had a rough time keeping up with all my RSS feeds lately, but I’m hoping to get back on track. First of all, I won a book from Ashley at Wide Open Wallet this week! So that was a welcome pick-me-up! I was also in the Festival of Frugality over at FIRE Finance. So that got my week rolling and here’s some of the great stuff I ran across in the meantime. Have a great weekend, everybody!
Karen from Living Well On Less wrote about an honest look at temptation while still trying to be frugal. I admire her and her hubby for backing down from that temptation…I’m not sure I would’ve been able to do it.
Kacie from Sense to Save takes a look at building up savings while getting out of debt. Dave and I saved up a small emergency fund and then switched our focus over to debt reduction. I wanted to make sure we had SOMETHING in savings before doing this, though.
J. Money from Budgets Are Sexy (politely) writes about check writers and how it can sometimes hold up the rest of us if the check writer in question doesn’t even know who to make the check out to. I couldn’t agree more. I was in the express lane the other day with two items and the lady in front of me took 8 minutes to write out a check (I checked my watch). That’s a bit irritating when you’re in a hurry, you know? Sorry!
Patrick from Cash Money Life gives some great advice about your check engine light on your vehicles and what you should do about it if yours comes on. Did you know there are some auto parts stores (like Auto Zone and possibly Advanced Auto Parts) that do the diagnostic for free? Very handy.
Bob from Christian Personal Finance gives an excellent step-by-step guide on how to start an Ebay business. This is actually something I’ve been thinking about doing, so this was very helpful for me!
FFB at Free From Broke gives some good advice on what to do when you’re in a car accident…mainly, make sure that the police are called, even if nobody is hurt. Good info, really.
