Have a good time, but stay in budget! Glad you didn’t go with the Dallas trip, that $1500 was twice your $700 saved funds.

I hope your interview goes well. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you. Take it from someone older and a little wiser: Don’t say anything negative about your former employer. Don’t say anything about your medical condition. You don’t need to disclose anything - focus on your positive performance, skills and what you can bring to the job they have available.

I just want to pass on some “tips” for vegas.

First, while the Imperial Palace is one of the older hotels on the strip it has a lot going for it. One being location! Two, it has an old car museum to visit that is FREE with a coupon which they will hand to you on your way there in the building.

if you catch the shuttle to your hotel, be sure to grab a couple of the FREE vegas magazines and coupon books. You can get two-for-one discounts to a lot of the shows. Also, becoming a player’s club member (even if you choose not to play/gamble) at any/all of the hotel’s costs you nothing and will ensure that you get additional coupons for things in those participating hotels. No, they dont spam you but they do occassionally send coupons for discounted rooms and such. There is usually free souviniours involved as well.

The best $6 steak dinner is at Ellis Island, about a block behind the strip. They also have a microbrewery and beers are $1. They dont take reservations so be prepared to wait, but it’s pretty good. Also, the Tuscany Suites, also about a block from the strip, has a super nice italian restaurant. It is pricey but the food is fabulous.

Freemont street is the old strip and where gambling and drinks are cheapest. Plus every night on the hour there is a free laser light show. You might need to cab it over and back but it is a blast!

Go see Fat Elvis at the hotel next door to the Flamingo. He is huge and sounds incredible. Plus the show is free during the week at 5pm-ish. The Flamingo has a bird exhibit where you can see flamingos and penguins for free. They are fed in the mornings at 8am.

Skip the rollar coasters as they are too expensive but if you want a thrill, try the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere. While it’s expensive, it is one thrill you will never forget.

You can pick up less expensive souviniours at the Hawaiian Market too.

And dont forget the best part about vegas is seeing all of the hotels. You have to check out the Bellagio light and water show at night. Walk through Cesear’s Palace at least once. Watch the pirate show at Treasure Island, check out the gondola’s in the Venitian. Walk through Paris in Paris.

Surprisingly, if you are not big into gambling, Vegas can be an incredibly inexpensive and frugal trip.

(Also, there are a couple of Denny’s and Wal-greens on the strip so you dont have to pay ridiculous prices for breakfast and water/sodas).
