Many of you may not know, but I’m a full time college student. I’ve been in college for what seems like forever (since 2002). I went to community college for two years and acquired my Associate’s Degree in Accounting. I then transferred to a private college 3 hours south of of where I was born and raised to continue working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. I was 6 classes away from graduating with my Bachelor’s and decided that I truly despised accounting at that point. Which is weird because I really love number crunching. But it really just wasn’t for me.
So I took a year off.
I enrolled back at the same college last year in the Human Services program (which is basically the root for anything in social work, psychology, counseling, etc) and I finished my first year this past May. I am passionate about my new education choices and hope to get a job I enjoy someday.
I start my 2nd year in the program on the 29th of this month. Which means I will graduate with my Associate’s in Human Services next June.
Anyway…that’s the back story.
It’s time to buy books again, and I decided to check online to see what I could get for cheaper than buying them at the college bookstore. I need 4 books for my 3 classes, and I was able to find 3 of them on Amazon (cheaper than the bookstore and Half.com), so I ordered those for $119. Even though I only saved $21, that’s $21 that could pay for most of a week’s worth of groceries! It figures that the last book is the most expensive one ($123 at the bookstore) and I was hoping to find it cheaper online but the ISBN number doesn’t appear to be valid or the book hasn’t been printed yet.
I’m planning to check again next week before classes start.
So even though I didn’t save as much as I was hoping to, it still saved me a few bucks and they get delivered right to my front door and I won’t have to stand in line at the bookstore (unless I need to buy my last book there).
