If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!Ugh. November was a bad month for us. Looks like the first few months of my PF blogging went well…then the last few went horridly wrong. I feel defeated and hate seeing all our numbers drop into the red (when [...]

money forecast not looking so hot
Practically finished our Christmas shopping today. Spent more than I thought, but it’s out of the way. We also have 6 birthdays in December (all immediate family…parents & siblings), so we did $25 gift cards to each person. Still need 2 more Christmas gifts for the father-in-law and then we will be done.
So after adding [...]
the $1 give!
Many of you have probably already heard of this, but I’m jumping on the bandwagon a bit late. Head over to One Dollar Give to see what we can all do to make a difference in the lives of others. As bloggers (and non-bloggers) if we all give just $1 each day to a different [...]
happy turkey day!
Just wanting to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We are heading to my father-in-law’s house this afternoon and will be back tomorrow evening (in time for me to be to work at 3am…I hate retail). Enjoy the food, enjoy the company, and enjoy the relaxing weekend that I know many of you will [...]
some perks of credit cards
One thing I sometimes did when I had multiple credit cards with balances was to transfer balances when one of my other cards had a great offer, or (and I’m ashamed to admit this) sometimes even open a NEW card if they were offering 0% interest, no fees, and free balance transfers. If you can [...]
part time job = part time dedication?
I really, really don’t know how people make it with part time jobs! I’m so lucky and fortunate that my husband has a good job that pays well. I’m also lucky that I’m still eligible for unemployment benefits (even though I’m employed) and should be eligible for the 2nd benefit extension that is going to [...]
credit card #3!
Quick note as I’m heading out the door for work! I just set up the final payment on my Debt Snowball #2 so that card will be paid off on December 1st! That makes 3 credit cards that I’ve paid off since starting this blog on July 1st. How exciting! I was going to send [...]
i <3 snapfish.com
I checked my email when I got up this morning and had an offer from Snapfish stating I could get 20 photo greeting cards for 1 cent each if I used their promo code. Now, this is a great deal because they normally cost $14.99 for each set of 20! I logged in and created [...]
my love for books
I had signed up for a book club a while back and although I don’t buy from them often, sometimes they have great deals that I can’t pass up…like tonight. They had a “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” sale going on and I was able to get FOUR hardcover books for just over $27 (and [...]
winterizing our windows
Lots of PF bloggers have been writing about how to winterize your home to save energy since the weather is getting colder now. Even though we don’t pay our heat or water bills (they are included in our rent), I went out and spent about $15 on buying some of the window kits because our [...]
