From July through August 2008 all extra income went into our “snowflake” savings account to put towards our vacation to Myrtle Beach in September 2008. I knew if we didn’t save money, we’d end up having to use credit cards, and we didn’t want that! By September 1st, we had $700 set aside for vacation (whether we’ll use it all or not, I don’t know. Rather be safe than sorry.)
I was going to focus on sending all snowflakes to our credit cards, but with my work hours being so unstable, I decided to send all snowflakes and extra money to our emergency fund in case we end up needing it. I have $200 budgeted that we will send to savings each month, plus all other blogging/survey money will possibly be going there as well. I may still send some of my blogging money to my credit cards, but I’m playing it by ear at this point.
